About Me
My life has consisted of many regularities. I have attended the same school for 13 years, played the same sports every year in high school, and enjoyed the same subjects in class. However, I try my hardest to branch out and experience new things at any chance I get. This started with me attending every single GIP event at Poly and applying to a GIP China trip, but has now evolved to me speaking to new people and listening to new ideas. Because of the regularity of my life, I have lacked diversity and representation in my education which has significantly decreased my ability to understand and empathize with others. That is why I currently strive to do whatever I can, whether that be saying hello to someone I have never spoken to before or applying to an international program, in an effort to strengthen my empathy and understanding.
I speak English fluently and am a heritage Arabic speaker. I have also been taking Mandarin for 7 years. Over the last few summers, I have taken three Global Online Academy Courses: 9/11 in a Global Context, Genocide & Human Rights, and Medical Problem Solving.
